Sink and hob openings, faucet holes, bevel edges and island shapes — cut on a 5-axis waterjet platform, with the machine configuration matched to your slab and your edge profile.
Quartz is a dense engineered surface, and the priority on every job is the same: a clean cut edge and an opening that fits the appliance, first time. The material does not forgive a ragged edge or an opening that has to be dressed on site, and the resin content makes the surface sensitive to heat at the cut. Abrasive waterjet cuts the slab cold and holds the opening relative to the finished edge, so the countertop, the cut-out and the edge profile come off the table as one finished set.
Quartz and quartz composite slabs are cut in the thicknesses your fabricator supplies. Because the cutting parameters follow the material, the slab format and the edge profile you want, the configuration is confirmed against your drawing rather than set from a fixed table — send us the job and we will confirm what the machine needs.
For countertop shops running straight cuts and cut-outs together on one table, with a flip platform for large pieces.
Bevels, angles and complex contours cut in one setup, so the edge profile is finished on the same machine as the opening.
Vision-assisted alignment for large slabs and pattern matching on veined or book-matched quartz.
Programming the outline, the openings and the edge profile as one job is what keeps a countertop job predictable. The position of every cut-out is held relative to the finished edge, the holes for the tap and the hob are cut from the same datum, and the bevel or mitre is cut before the slab leaves the table.
The alternative — cutting outlines on one machine and openings on another — adds a second setup, a second chance of a positional error, and a handling risk on a slab that is already finished. Keeping the whole job in one program is how a fabricator takes a countertop from slab to installation without reworking the opening.
Tell us the quartz you are cutting, the slab size and the openings you need. We will come back with the machine configuration for your workshop.
