Bevels, mitre joints and angled profiles cut on the AC 5-axis platform, with a 0–65° head swing and no secondary edge operation.
A mitre joint either closes along its whole length or it does not — the head has to hold its angle through the cut. If the angle drifts, the two faces meet at one end and open at the other, and on a finished stone or ceramic edge that is visible immediately. The angle is not set once at the start of the cut and then forgotten; it has to be held for the full length of it.
On a 5-axis waterjet the head is programmed to the angle and the cut is made in one pass. The bevel or the mitre is part of the same job as the outline and the openings, cut from the same datum, so the edge detail and the part geometry stay related to each other.
The angle range is a property of the platform rather than of one material: bevels and mitres are cut on stone and ceramic as well as on steel and stainless steel. No thickness figures are quoted on this page — tell us the material and the section and we will confirm the machine configuration and the cutting parameters for the job.
0–65° of head swing, for bevels, mitres, chamfers and angled profiles cut in the same setup as the outline.
0–15° head articulation with taper compensation, for shallower controlled angles and for inlay work where the joint has to close.
Bevel and mitre work carried out as part of the countertop process, with a flip platform for loading and positioning large pieces.
The AC 5-axis head swings through 0 to 65°. In practice that range covers the edge work that would otherwise be sent to a second machine: a vertical edge, a bevel at the angle the design calls for, a mitre where two pieces meet, a chamfer, and an angled detail on a shaped part. All of it is programmed into the same job.
Because the angle is produced by the head, the piece stays where it was positioned. There is no second setup, no re-clamping and no separate edge machine, so the bevel and the opening are cut from one datum and the relationship between them is held.
Send us the edge detail, the joint you need and the material. We will confirm the machine and the cutting parameters for the job.
